The church teaches that "There are seven sacraments in the Church: Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Penance, Anointing of the Sick, Matrimony, and Holy Orders. The purpose of the sacraments is to make people holy, to build up the body of Christ, and finally, to give worship to God; but being signs, they also have a teaching function. They not only presuppose faith, but by words and object, they also nourish, strengthen, and express it; that is why they are called "sacraments of faith." The sacraments impart grace, but, in addition, the very act of celebrating them disposes the faithful most effectively to receive this grace in a fruitful manner, to worship God rightly, and to practice charity."
Your child’s Baptism is a time for celebration in our parish community! Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. General information is here. If your child is 7 years or older, please click here.
We welcome children preparing for their First Reconciliation. Parents, through forgiveness each member of your family experiences healing, knows they are loved and finds peace. It is through your family and within your family that your child will come to understand the sacrament of Reconciliation and the immensity of God’s love and forgiveness.
We welcome children preparing for First Holy Communion. This is a memorable year in the life of your child and your entire family. As with every celebration much time is put into preparing, so too for the celebration of First Communion preparations need to be made.
The sacrament of Confirmation has two primary effects: The bond with the church is strengthened which first began in baptism. The person is enriched with an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and receives the spiritual gifts of the spirit.
Congratulations and may God bless you on the announcement of your engagement! Anointing of the sick
Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of healing. It has been part of Christian tradition from the earliest times, from the time of Jesus himself. The gospels are filled with stories of his healing touch.
Please see calendar for special massess
RCIA - Right of Christian Initiation of Adults
“The Rite of Christian Initiation is designed for adults who after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts. By God’s help they will be strengthened spiritually during their preparation and at the proper time will receive the sacraments fruitfully.”
